Produced by Riot Games and Fortiche Productions, Arcane tells the origin story of two iconic League champions - Vi and Jinx - and the tumultuous relationship between them.
The series is set in the dual city-states of Piltover and Zaun, regions that have long been central to the lore of League of Legends. Piltover, known as the "City of Progress", is a shining beacon of technological advancement and prosperity, ruled over by a council of wealthy industrialists. In contrast, the undercity of Zaun is a grim, polluted place, home to the downtrodden, the criminals, and those cast aside by Piltover's elitism.
The story primarily follows the lives of two sisters, Vi and Jinx, as they are shaped by the stark divide between these two cities. Vi, a tough and strong-willed woman, is a enforcer tasked with maintaining order in Piltover. Her younger sister Jinx, on the other hand, is a brilliant but unstable criminal, driven by a deep resentment towards the upper city.
As children, the sisters were inseparable, bonded by their shared experience of losing their parents at a young age. However, their paths diverged as they grew older, with Vi choosing to become a law enforcement officer while Jinx descended into lawlessness and violence.
